Scripture reminds us that FAITH “is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).” Personal experience teaches us that GRIEF, because of the death of a loved one, is painful, sporadic, and life changing. And research shows that COMMUNITY is vital in overcoming faith’s fears and grief’s isolation.
Acknowledging these things, Faith Presbyterian Hospice, in partnership with Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, Baylor University Medical Center, St. Michael and All Angels Church and Wilshire Baptist Church, hosts luncheons that allow men and women who are mourning the death of a loved one to circle together and be strengthened by food, Scripture, prayers, and reflection.
Faith & Grief Luncheons are open to all persons of faith. Our time together is about embracing the truth that grief hurts—but it hurts less when it is shared. And to have it shared within the arms of a broad, all encompassing faith gives strength for tomorrow.
Perhaps you know someone who grieves anew or finds that an old grief has resurfaced. All are welcome here, where we intentionally explore the relationship between Faith & Grief. Come join us. And please share this information throughout your community of faith!
